Gastroenterology North Queensland offers high-quality gastroenterology services, with minimal out-of-pocket expenses.
Procedures
When booking the procedure you will be given an informed financial consent form with the item numbers relevant to your procedure. The majority of any procedure cost will be billed directly through your health fund. There will however be a small out-of-pocket fee for the procedure which you will be required to pay beforehand.
There may be an out-of-pocket fee for your anaesthetist. We will provide you with contact details for your anaesthetist and encourage you to talk with them directly.
You should be aware that there may be a cost for pathology if any samples are taken at the time of your procedure.
In-patient consultation
We choose to run this service under a no-gap fee policy.
Out-patient services
Out-patient services are not covered by private health insurance. You will need to pay up front for your consultation on the day after you have seen the doctor. You can claim a proportion of this back through Medicare which can be done on-line or processed by our staff directly at the time of your appointment. Medicare consultation item numbers are used for billing. Please contact our practice for further information on our fees.
Non-insured patients
Are welcome to the practice. Medicare will cover a proportion of the procedure fee (approx. 75%) but hospital bed fees are not rebatable. Please discuss these costs with our staff.
